AFRICA/BURKINA FASO-Appointment of the Rector of the major Seminary "St. Pierre Claver " in Bobo-Dioulasso

Vatican City (Agenzia Fides) - Cardinal Ivan Dias, Prefect of the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples, appointed Fr. Theophile Nare, of the archdiocesan clergy in Koupéla, Rector of the Major Seminary interdiocesan "St. Pierre Claver" located at the Archdiocese of Bobo-Dioulasso (Burkina Faso.
The new Rector was born on July 7, 1966 at Yargo (Koupéla). After primary school, he attended the minor Seminary of St.Augustine Baskouré (1980-87) and St. Francis de Sales Pabré (1987-88). He then studied philosophy at the Major Seminary of St. Jean-Baptiste in Wayalghe (1988-1990) and theology at the major Seminary St. Pierre Claver in Koumi(1990-92). After a year of pastoral internship (1992-93), he completed his Bachelor in theological studies (1993-95). He was ordained priest on 8 July 1995 in Koupéla. After being cooperator Vicar at the parish of the Cathedral (1995-2000), he specialized in Biblical Sciences at the Pontifical Biblical Institute in Rome (2000-2004) and studied at the Institut de formation du Clergé of Educateurs (IFEC)in Paris (2004-2005). When he returned home, he was Administrator of the Parish of the Cathedral in Koupéla (2005-2006) and since 2006 he has been Professor at the major Seminary St. Jean-Baptiste in Wayalghe.
