ASIA/INDIA - Indian Jesuit appointed director of Interdisciplinary Communications Centre at Gregorian University in Rome

Bangalore (Fides Service) - The appointment of Jesuit father from Patna in India, Father Jacob Srampickal, as Director of the Interdisciplinary Communications Centre at Gregorian University in Rome, where he has been teaching for the past year, was warmly welcomed by Jesuits everywhere. It is seen as recognition for the tireless commitment of Indian Jesuits in social sciences and the science of communications.
Before being called to teach at the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome, Father Jacob worked for thirty years in the field of social communications in India. He is known throughout Asia and has been animator and delegate for Social Communications of the FABC, Federation of Asian Bishops’ Conferences and also served as an adviser to Catholic TV stations in India and Thailand. Father Jacob Srampickal is also co-founder of Niscort Institute of Communications sponsored by the Indian Bishops’ Conference.
