ASIA/KOREA - Appointment of Rector for inter-diocesan Seminary in Kwangju

Vatican City (Agenzia Fides) – Card. Ivan Dias, Prefect of the Congregation for the Evangelisation of Peoples, on 28 May 2010 appointed as Rector of the inter-diocesan Seminary in the Archdiocese of Kwangju (Korea), Father Lupus Roh Seong-Key, from the clergy of Kwangju.
The new Rector was born on 8 August 1957 and was ordained a priest on 4 February 1993. After studying at Honam University (1982-86) where he received his degree, he continued his studies at Kwangju Catholic University (1986-93) and at the Patristic Augustinianum Institute (1994-99), where he received his degree in Patrology; he also attended a course on spiritual direction in England (1999-2000). Among the roles he has held: he was assistant parish priest and parish priest, professor and deacon for students at Kwangju Catholic University. He has published various books and articles, and had regular columns on the Fathers of the Church for the Catholic Times and Pastoral Information. (SL) (Agenzia Fides 4/02/2011)
