Vatican City (Fides Service) - The Holy Father, Pope John Paul II has, 6 July 2004, accepted the resignation of the pastoral government of the diocese of Mandeville (Jamaica), presented by Bishop Paul Michael Boyle, C.P., in conformity with Canon Law, canon 401 § 1. The Pope has appointed Bishop of Mandeville Mgr. Gordon Dunlap Bennett, S.J., until now titular Bishop of Nesqually and Auxiliary of the Archdiocese of Baltimora. (S.L.)
