VATICAN - Swahili version of Pope John Paul II’s Message for World Mission Day 2004 “Ekaristi na Misioni” now available

Dar-es-Salaam (Fides Service) - Pope John Paul II’s Messge for this year’s World Mission Day, celebrated in most countries on Sunday October 24, is now available in Swahili spoken by the Bantu people and used as a lingua franca in East African countries. The translation of the Message Eucharist and Mission “Ekaristi na Misioni” was arranged by the National Office of the Pontifical Mission Societies in Tanzania and the National Director Rev. Liberatus Mwenda. The aim is to help more people prepare in the best possible way for World Mission Day which falls within the new Year of the Eucharist announced by the Pope (October 2004 - October 2005).
