Jerusalem (Agenzia Fides) – Catholic women from all over the world gathered in Jerusalem to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the World Union of Organizations of Catholic Women (WUCWO), founded in 1910 to coordinate "the presence, participation, the shared responsibility of Catholic women in society and in the Church." One hundred years later, 500 delegates, representing about 5 million women, have come together in the Holy City to discuss, among other things, marriage and family life and to meet local Christians and talk about their lives in the Holy Land. After the inaugural Mass, celebrated by the Latin Patriarch Fouad Twal, the delegates from 60 countries attended five days of meetings and discussions, as well as visits to Jerusalem and Galilee.
