VATICAN - “A Euro for a Child”: Bambino Gesù fund raising campaign for new department collects 1,100,000 Euro

Vatican City (Fides Service) - Some 1,100,000 Euro have been collected with the campaign “A Euro for a Child” promoted by the Bambino Gesù Hospital in Rome to build a new Department.
Monday 5 July 11, there will be a press conference to announce the results and future developments of a fund raising campaign “Un Euro per un Bambino”, which recently closed its second edition.
More than one million people offered one Euro for the hospital project. One of the highest proportion of participation in social field in terms of numbers of donors ever registered in fund raising campaign in Italy.
The funds raised will go towards a new 6,000 sq. mt. offering latest specialist care for thousands of children from all over Italy and abroad. (AP) (2/7/2004 Agenzia Fides; Righe:21; Parole:196)
