OCEANIA/AUSTRALIA - First convention for Catholic youth ministry leaders from all over Australia

Sidney (Agenzia Fides) – Leaders of Catholic Youth Ministry from all over Australia will take part in the first Catholic Youth Ministry Convention ACYMC to be held in Melbourne 1 and 3 October, open to all involved in youth ministry in schools, parishes, Church movements and religious orders as well as young people themselves. The theme chosen for the Convention is "Good Teacher what must I do to inherit eternal life?" (Mk 10,17). Fr Chris Ryan, MGL, Missionaries of God's Love and coordinator of the 2007/2008 pilgrimage across Australian of World Youth Day Cross, said the event is being organised in the same spirit of World Youth Day. "The Australian continue to support and encourage young people in the pastoral life of the Church, ACYMC will be a great opportunity for formation and a unique occasion of unity and sharing for so many young Catholics from all over Australia." Organised by the Bishops' Commission for Pastoral Life (BCPL), the Convention will include opening speeches by Bishops and international speakers, forty workshops, an exhibition on youth ministry, music arts and opportunity in the Internet and much more.
