EUROPE/ITALY - Heart of St. Camillus travels from Rome to Ireland

Rome (Agenzia Fides) – The Order of Ministers of the Sick (Camillians) have begun celebrating the 400th anniversary of the death of San Camillo (1614 - 2014). Among other activities is also provided for the public exposition and the pilgrimage of the Holy Relic of the Heart of Saint Camillus, normally kept in the General House in Rome, to the provinces where the Order is present. On Friday, July 9, 2010 the heart of Saint Camillus was flown from Rome to Ireland, where it will stay for the entire month. A series of bureaucratic procedures, in addition to preparations within the General House, marked last Friday, when the relic left the 'Cubiculum' headed for Leonardo da Vinci Airport and was then loaded on the flight to Ireland. Saturday, July 10, the first Mass was held in its honor, at the Chapel of the St. Camillus Nursing Centre in Killucan, Ireland. (AP) (Agenzia Fides 12/07/2010)
