VATICAN - It has been announced that Pope John Paul II will go to Lourdes on the occasion of the 150th anniversary of the promulgation of the dogma of the Immaculate Conception

Vatican City (Fides Service) - Pope John Paul II will make a two day pilgrimage to Lourdes on the 14 and 15 August on the occasion of the 150th anniversary of the promulgation of the dogma of the Immaculate Conception. The pilgrimage was announced today by the Holy See Press Room. The Papal flight will depart from Rome at 9.30am on Saturday 14 August 2004 and will return to Rome at the estimated time of 8.45pm Sunday 15 August 2004. This will be Pope John Paul II’s 104th international apostolic journey and his seventh visit to France. The last time the Pope went to Lourdes was 21 years ago to the day 14 and 15 August 1983.
