AFRICA/CONGO DR - 40 minors of Rwanda and Congo seek “Long-Distance Sponsors”
Bukavu (Agenzia Fides) – There are a growing number of children seeking help from the Movement for Fighting World Hunger, who are now served in two centers for child protection, in Rwanda and DRC. Forty new requests have been received in recent days by the Sisters of the two centers. Twenty new children arrived at the Reception Center "Ek'Abana", the house founded by Sister Natalina Isella in Bukavu in Congo, to accommodate children, particularly girls, accused of witchcraft. Another group of children just entered the "Casa San Giuseppe" of the Sisters of St. Paul in Muhura, Rwanda. Among the common objectives are: to ensure education, food, medical care, psychological support, and above all, lots of love. The invitation the MLFM sends out to all is to help out through a "Long-Distance Sponsorship" of one of these children that has just reached their new home. (AP) (Agenzia Fides 28/04/2010)
