AFRICA/SUDAN - Rector of Saint Paul Theological Interdiocesan Seminary in Khartoum appointed

Vatican City (Agenzia Fides) - Cardinal Ivan Dias, Prefect of the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples, on January 4, 2010, appointed Fr. Michael Adgum Didi, of the archdiocesan clergy of Khartoum, Rector of St. Paul Theological Interdiocesan Seminary in the Archdiocese of Khartoum (Sudan).
The new Rector was born January 1, 1959 in Engoth (Nuba Mountains) and was ordained a priest on May 10, 1992 in Omdurman. After his primary and secondary schooling, he studied philosophy and theology at the St. Paul National Major Seminary (1986-1992). After his ordination, he carried out his ministry in a parish and among the refugees at Camp Jabarona, Khartoum. He specialized in Canon Law in Rome (1997-2002), and was appointed Professor of this subject at St. Paul Major Seminary, in the Theological Department of Khartoum in 2002. He was the first Professor from Sudan to hold the position of Dean of Studies at St. Paul Seminary. (S.L.) (Agenzia Fides 18/2/2010)
