Vatican City (Fides Service) - The Holy Father, Pope John Paul II, has, 10 June 2004, accepted the resignation of the pastoral government of Pondicherry and Cuddalore (India), presented by Archbishop Michael Augustin, in conformity with the Code of Canon Law, canon 401 § 2. The Pope has a appointed Metropolitan Archbishop of Pondicherry and Cuddalore (India) Mgr. Anthony Anandarayar, until now Bishop of Ootacamund. (S.L.) (Agenzia Fides 11/6/2004; Righe 5; Parole 70)
