Hong Kong (Agenzia Fides) - The Canossian family in Hong Kong recently marked the feast day of its foundress Saint Magdalene of Canossa. More than 200 Canossian Sisters and a large group of Third Order lay members and friends and guests gathered for a special Mass during which three nuns made their solemn profession. On the same occasion the 90 local lay Third Order Canossians renewed their profession and vowed to continue their mission in the spirit of humility of their foundress.
During the homily the priest encouraged the Sisters and lay members to devote themselves to evangelisation. “We must carry the Gospel of Christ everywhere - he told those present - especially to those men and women who have yet to encounter Jesus. He encouraged the Third Order members to imitate Saint Barnabas who was a missionary with Saint Paul, while remaining in close union with the Canossian Sisters.
