ANNOUNCEMENTS - Acli and Focsiv join the wake of prayer on June 3rd organised by the Community of Sant’Egidio in Rome.

Wednesday, 2 June 2004

Rome (Fides Agency) - “The anniversary of June 4th is part of our DNA - explain Acli president, Luigi Bobba, and Focsiv director, Sergio Marelli - because that day, sixty years ago, was a milestone along the path of our Country’s liberation. It is right to remember and give thanks on this day, for those who gave their life for our freedom”.
For this reason Acli and Focsiv join the wake of prayer organised by the Community of Sant’Egidio in the evening on June 3rd, in Rome, in the Church of Santa Maria in Trastevere. It is the chance to remember the liberation of Rome and the end of World War II, to express profound gratitude to the American people and the people of all Countries which helped Italy to get out of the nightmare of war and Nazi-fascism, to say no to all wars and a clear yes to choices of peace. With the same spirit, they shall join all those initiatives - meetings, debates, wakes and candlelight processions - taking place at a local level in Italy on June 3rd, the vigil of President Bush’s visit to Rome.
