AMERICA/PERU - “Send me Lord I will be your missionary!” more than 2,500 children attend National Missionary Childhood Day to renew their commitment.

Lima (Fides Service) - While the Great City Mission of New Evangelisation “Remar Mar adentro”, is in full swing in Lima, today May 29, children are taking part in the national Missionary Childhood Day 2004 to reflect on their commitment as evangelisers.
The slogan this year is “Send me Lord! I will be your missionary!”. Some 2,500 children members of Missionary Childhood are taking part in the meeting organised by the National office of the Pontifical Mission Societies in Peru at the Salesian Centre in the district of Breña. The meeting, an alternation of reflection and celebration is presided by Maltese St Paul Missionary Father Manuel Parnic.
On Sunday 30 May hundreds of Missionary Childhood children from Callao will gather at the “Conchiglia Acustica”, Chucuito-Callao, to reflect on what it means to be a member of Missionary Childhood and their missionary efforts in the diocese. After the reflection the children will take part in a special Mass presided by Mgr Juan De Dios, Vicar General of Callao diocese.
