Taipei (Fides Service) - Taipei is rightly proud of its Catholic Home for the Aged opened by the Jesuit fathers. Twenty years ago Jesuits gave the home to the archdiocese handing it to the then Archbishop Matteo Kia. Today the Home still welcomes old people and it was recently visited by an old friend emeritus Archbishop Matteo Kia. During his visit Archbishop Kia celebrated Mass and in his homily he said it is sad to note that very often rich societies exclude the elderly who have so much to offer the younger generations, and he said that the Church is in front line to prevent the exclusion of the elderly from society.
