Stuttgart (Fides Service) - On Saturday 8 May in the German town of Stuttgart, a week after the European Union welcomed 10 new member countries, Christians of different Churches and communions will take part in an international meeting ‘Together for Europe’ to give a soul to the building a new Europe, “united in diversity” and a Europe which fulfils its universal vocation of peace and unity among peoples. The appointment is at the Hanns Martin Schleyer sports palace- 10am to 5.30pm - in live satellite link with 151 cities in Europe. Speakers will include founders and leaders of movements and communities and groups such as Chiara Lubich, Andrea Riccardi; Lutheran pastors Friedrich Aschoff, Ulrich Parzany; Father Heikki Huttunen, Orthodox, contributions from Romano Prodi, President European Commission; Cardinal Walter Kasper, President of the Pontifical Council for the Promotion of unity among Christians; Johannes Friedrich, Lutheran Bishop of the Church of Bavaria.
