AFRICA/ZIMBABWE - Rector of “St. John Fisher and St. Thomas More” Interdiocesan Seminary in the Archdiocese of Harare, appointed

Vatican City (Agenzia Fides) – Cardinal Ivan Dias, Prefect of the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples, on October 10, 2008, appointed Fr. Peter Rugora of the clergy of the Diocese of Mavingo (Zimbabwe), Rector of “St. John Fisher and St. Thomas More” Interdiocesan Seminary in the Archdiocese of Harare (Zimbabwe).
The new Rector was born on September 11, 1971. He studied philosophy and theology at Chishawasha Regional Major Seminary and was ordained a priest in 1998. He carried out his pastoral ministry in the Diocese of Masvingo until 2001, when he began studies at the Catholic University of Eastern Africa, earning a Doctorate in Moral Theology in 2006. Returning to the Diocese in 2007, he was sent to teach at the Chishawasha Regional Major Seminary, also serving as Dean of Studies there. (SL) (Agenzia Fides 18/2/2009)
