AFRICA/NIGERIA - Rev. Thomas Mbvwakhnkwuot appointed Rector of the Good Shepherd Major Seminary in Kaduna

Vatican City (Fides Service) - Cardinal Crescenzio Sepe, Prefect of the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples, appointed, 19 March 2004, Rector of Good Shepherd Inter-diocesan Major Seminary in Kaduna, Nigeria, Rev. Thomas Mbvwakhnkwuot, of the diocesan clergy of Kafanchan. The new Rector was born on 25 April 1964 at Kurdan, Kaduna state, Nigeria. He was ordained a priest at Jos on 16 November 1991, he is a member of the diocesan clergy of Kafanchan. He studied at the Pontifical Urban University and the Pontifical Biblical Institute in Rome. He has since ministered in parishes in Bauchi and Jos (1991/95); and as Vocations Director of Jos archdiocese (1992/95); assistant priest and administrator of St. Peter Claver Cathedral at Kafanchan (1995/96) and Vocations Director for Kafanchan diocese (1995/97).
