ASIA/TAJIKISTAN - Second Charity Concert of Classical Religious Music in Dushanbe in aid of deaf and dumb children

Dushanbe (Fides Service) - A Charity Concert of Classical Religious Music in aid of Deaf and Dumb Children in Tajikistan was held on Friday 2 April at the Catholic Mission of Tajikistan, Father Carlos Avila VE Superior of the Mission informed Fides. The Concert, the second of its kind, was held in St Joseph’s parish Dushanbe. Recently two new priests arrived from South America to work at the mission Father Pedro Ramiro López and Father Roberto Ezequiel Ayala both Argentineans and members of the Incarnate Word Institute VE.
The event was organised by the British Ambassador to Tajikistan His Excellency Michael Smith in collaboration with the parish priest Father Juan Carlos Sack VE, and other members of the community of foreign citizens in Tajikistan. The concert, conducted by the Ambassador, was attended by members of the diplomatic corps, local authorities and representatives of the ministry of culture and the national committee for religious affairs.
