Vatican City (Agenzia Fides) - Cardinal Ivan Dias, Prefect of the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples, on 30 September 2008, appointed Fr. Thomas Chacko Ezhuparayil, of the Society of the Divine Word (SVD), Rector of the Interdiocesan Seminary “Khrist Premalaya Philosophate,” of the Archdiocese of Bhopal (India).
The new Rector was born on March 4, 1962 and took his perpetual vows on June 12, 1990. He was ordained a priest on April 28, 1992. After performing pastoral ministry in Panchkui (1993), he became teacher and moderator (1994-96) and later Dean of the “Khrist Premalaya Philosophate” in Bhopal. After obtaining a Doctorate in Philosophy in Bangalore (2000-2005), he served once again as Dean at “Khrist Premalaya Philosophate” in Bhopal. (SL) (Agenzia Fides 26/11/2008)
