JANUARY
Missionary - For vocations in mission lands: may the Lord continue to call holy and selfless men and women eager to proclaim the Gospel.
General - For people working for peace in the Middle East: may they never tire in their efforts to succeed.

FEBRUARY
Missionary - For missionaries: may they grow in fervent love, indispensable for proclaiming the Gospel with conviction.
General - For the sick, especially those who are poor: may they receive care and treatment worthy of their human dignity.

MARCH
Missionary - For the local Churches: may they realise the need to form Christians to face the challenges of new evangelisation.
General - For governments: when adopting development plans and policies may they take into account the poor and the excluded.

APRIL
Missionary - For Christian communities: filled with burning zeal for holiness may they kindle numerous missionary vocations.
General - For all Christians: may they live Sunday truly as the Lord’s Day, dedicated to God and neighbour.

MAY
Missionary - For the Pontifical Mission Societies: may they help all Christians, young and old, realise that they have a part to play in missionary work.
General - For people persecuted for the sake of faith and justice: may they find consolation and strength in the Holy Spirit.

JUNE
Missionary - For Christians: may they come to an ever deeper realisation that the Most Holy Eucharist is the pulsing heart of the Church.
General - For the millions of refugees in the world: may they receive brotherly love and concrete aid from all Christians.

JULY
Missionary - For the baptised all over the world: whatever their state of life may they be committed to transforming the world with the light of the Gospel.
General - For all Christians: may they share the message of the Gospel with all its radical demands while showing respect for the beliefs and opinions of others.

AUGUST
Missionary - For students from mission Churches in Rome: may their studies in the Eternal City be a time of spiritual enrichment.
General - For World Youth Day: may this occasion draw young people everywhere to meet Christ and to welcome Him as Lord of their life.

SEPTEMBER
Missionary - For young Churches: may they proclaim the Christian message so it may penetrate and enrich all local cultures.
General - For governors and governments: may they always respect the fundamental right to religious freedom of every person.

OCTOBER
Missionary - For all Christians: besides praying for the missions may they also support missionary activity with material offerings.
General - For all Christians facing the threat of secularism: may they trust in God and be courageous witnesses of faith and hope.

NOVEMBER
Missionary - For Bishops in missionary territories: may they fulfil their duty to provide permanent formation for their priests.
General - For married people: may they grow in holiness in everyday life following the example of so many Christian spouses.

DECEMBER
Missionary - For people all over the world searching for God and truth: may they encounter the Lord Jesus.
General - For all men and women: may they come to an ever deeper understanding of their dignity, granted them by the Creator in his plan.
