EUROPE/GERMANY – “AID TO THE CHURCH IN NEED” OPENS NEW RADIO STUDIOS WHICH WILL FOCUS ON AREAS WHERE THE CHURCH IS PERSECUTED OR IN PARTICULAR NEED

Munich (Fides Service) – The German branch of “Aid to the Church in Need” ACN recently opened a new Radio Studios in Munich. According to ACN Statement the studios will begin by broadcasting Universal Church News with programmes of Radio Horeb and Radio Maria Austria. During the programmes on Sunday mornings Church personalities from varIous parts of the world will described the situation in their local Church. One of the first guests speakers on Sunday 1 February was Bishop Clemens Pickel, Bishop of St Clemente in Saratow in Russia.
The new ACN radio studios is anxious to collaborate with other broadcasting initiatives with which it intends to exchange and share interviews and news. “We want to inform people about situations in which the Church is persecuted and is therefore in need of help”, Klaus Wundlechner the head of the German Branch of Aid to the Church in Need, said with regard to this new initiative in broadcasting. “Aid to the Church in Need” headquarters in Königstein, Germany has a television studios Catholic Radio and Television Network (CRTN), opened in 1987 which produces programmes for television companies in different parts of the world, particularly Eastern Europe and Latin America. Königstein studios will soon begin producing two new formats of information programmes to be regularly broadcast by “Bibel TV”, EWTN and K-TV.
