AMERICA/MEXICO - Preparing for the 3rd American Missionary Congress (CAM 3): drawing up Mexico’s proposal, that its participation may be active and effective

Mexico City (Agenzia Fides) – With the participation of nearly 100 people from over 40 dioceses in the country, the “Pre-CAM 3” was held on May 30 in the Pontifical Mission Society facilities in Mexico City, according to a report sent to the Agenzia Fides by Father Guillermo Morales, National Director of the PMS of Mexico.
The objective for the encounter was to elaborate the proposal of Mexico for the CAM 3, so that the participation of the Mexican contingent may be active and effective at the Congress. The proposal was presented through a study of the CAM 3 Workbook and with the participation of an efficient team representing the missionaries of Mexico.
It was a day of prayer, spirit/animation, and formation. The National Director of the PMS gave the welcoming address there was later a missionary Holy Hour, led by the Poor Clare Missionaries, in an environment of prayer and recollection, praying for the success of the upcoming CAM 3. Fr. Francisco Espino, Director of Missions for the Archdiocese of Puebla, was appointed Secretary. Fr. Espino also presented the summaries and conclusions from the group workshops. The morning sessions were on analysis and reflection on the Workbook. In the first part, Fr. Antonio Camacho, Missionary of Guadalupe, analyzed the theological development of the main themes, which formed the base for the questions proposed in the Workbook and that will later be elaborated on in Mexico’s proposal for CAM 3.
