EUROPE/AFRICA - MEETING OF FRENCH/AFRICAN TWIN DIOCESES ORGANISED BY PONTIFICAL MISSION SOCIETIES TO GROW IN THE UNIVERSAL DIMENSION OF FAITH

Lyons (Fides Service)- A two day meeting of “twin” dioceses has been organised by the Pontifical Mission Societies in France, 22-23 November in Lyons, France. Some 85 participants have gather representing French dioceses (32) and African dioceses such as Koudougou in Burkina Faso, twinned with Angoulême, and African parishes such as St Ambrose in Abidjan, Ivory Coast, twinned with St Ambrose parish in Paris. Three delegates from Missio Switzerland are also taking place.
The purpose of the meeting is to enable participants to live an enriching sharing of very different experiences of church life and to see how twinning helps Christians in different countries to grow in the universal spirit of the faith. (L.M.) (Fides Service 22/11/2003)
