Lahore (Fides Service) – “Peace on Earth” is the title of a new Compact Disc produced by Lahore diocese’s Catholic Wave Studio whose director is Father John Nadeem.
Wave recording studios was opened by the Social Communications Committee of the archdiocese of Lahore. Its purpose is to harness the great potential of the Media as a channel for evangelisation and spreading of Christian values. Wave Studios, equipped with the most modern technology, produces and distributes music, audio material, radio programmes for catechesis and animation of church events.
“Peace on Earth” CD will be distributed to Catholic families, schools, teachers of religion, catechists, religious congregations as well as Muslim schools and associations. In fact it has been produced in such as way that its message on the necessity and urgency for peace building can be understood and appreciated by people of all religions
Peace on Earth, purposely prepared in view of Christmas, is a collection of songs and spoken reflections by intellectuals and religious leaders on the subject of peace in the world, justice and protection of creation.
At the official launching of the CD Archbishop Lawrence Saldanha voiced appreciation for the initiative congratulating Wave Studios writers and technicians for the excellent music, lyrics, and spoken texts.
Lahore archdiocese is very active in social communications and in the past it has organised seminars on the theme of Media and Peace. Archbishop Lawrence Saldhana Lahore recalled the media’s great responsibility to avoid feeding religious fundamentalism and, as the Pope says, “to fulfil their mission at the service of peace”.
