Wednesday, 12 December 2007

Sydney (Agenzia Fides) - A lovely Christmas gift would be to make a contribution to help young people in Africa, Asia, Latin America, Oceania with scarce economic resources take part in the 23rd World Youth Day event in Sydney.
World Youth Day organisers are providing parents, grandparents, teachers and friends with the opportunity to make a Christmas contribution to their young relatives or friends aspirations to attend next July's event.
The WYD Vouchers can fund all or part of the pilgrim registration fee to attend the events held from 15 - 20 July 2008. With more than 125,000 international pilgrims expected to come to Sydney and up to 500,000 people expected to attend the largest single event, WYD will also mark Pope Benedict’s first visit to Australia. Open to all young people, WYD hopes to mark a spiritual rejuvenation of many young Catholics and Christians as well as the Australian Catholic Church.
