Thursday, 15 November 2007

Caçapava do Sul (Agenzia Fides) - On Saturday 17 November Brother Misael of the Most Holy Trinity OSC, a member of the Monastic Congregation of Saint Cecilia, will make his perpetual vows, Brother Marcos of Santa Helena, founder and prior of the Priory, told Fides. The liturgy will be presided by Bishop Irineu Silvio Wilges of the diocese of Caçapava do Sul, Rio Grande do Sul State. For the occasion the Saint Cecilia Chapel Choir will sign a Solemn Mass composed by the Prior.
The Monastic Congregation of Saint Cecilia, registered as the Order of Santa Cecilia, was founded on 11 October in 1998, with the charisma to contemplate God through Sacred Music and the Liturgy. The monks strive to love the Most Holy Eucharist, the centre of the liturgy. The monks of the Order of Santa Cecilia each learn to play a musical instrument and produce works of art. They study theology at a distance connected with Universities in Europe to prepare for the priesthood and meet the spiritual necessities of the monastery and also of the parish or diocese should the need arise.
