AMERICA/COSTA RICA - Preparation for CAM 3 in Costa Rica starts with study meetings and a National Meeting to examine CAM 3 Working Paper

San José (Agenzia Fides) - After a process of three years the National Mission Council and the national office of the Pontifical Mission Societies in Costa Rica will commence on 10 November preparations for the Third American Mission Congress CAM 3, to be held in August 2008 in Quito Ecuador, Alexander Q. Castillo who collaborates with the Pontifical Mission Societies in Costa Rica, informed Fides.
In these three years, following guidelines issued by the CAM 3 Central Commission, the local Church in Costa Rica has undertaken a process of formation, with special emphasis in 2006, and mission experiences in 2007.
On 10 November the CAM 3 working paper will be presented to representatives of diocesan Missions Commissions and the national secretaries of the four Pontifical Mission Societies. At the Meeting there will also be the presentation of the Calendar of Study Meetings on the working paper with missionaries all over the country to be held next January, February and April. In May 2008 there will be a National Meeting in Preparation for CAM 3, during which the members of the delegation which will represent the Church in Costa Rica at CAM 3 will be announced.
These activities are coordinated jointly by the national Missions Council and the national office of the Pontifical Mission Societies led by Alexander Q. Castello, appointed responsible for this process in Costa Rica after CAM 2, celebrated in Guatemala in 2003. (RG) (Agenzia Fides 29/10/2007; righe 19, parole 249)
