Czestochowa (Agenzia Fides) - On Sunday 28 October, at the end of Mission Week in Czestochowa, in the church of St. Adalbert, bishop and martyr, principal patron saint of Poland Fr Maciej Oset received the missionary mandate and in a few days time he will depart for mission in Zambia. In preparation for the Mass there was the recitation of the Missionary Rosary.
“It was a day of special joy for all of us, for the particular Church of Czestochowa. One of our priests will go to serve in Africa, the continent of hope. He will go as a witness to the Gospel of Christ - said Fr Jacek Gancarek -. This “missio” for Fr Maciej Oset will also increase mission awareness in our diocese, and give new spiritual energy to the many young people who took part, to enable them to promote in families, schools and parishes not only prayers for missionaries, but also evangelising activity towards other young people distant from Christ and the Church”. The archdiocese of Czestochowa had priests and lay missionaries working in various countries in Africa, Asia, Latin America (Cameroon, Zambia, Argentina, Papua New Guinea, Brazil, Ecuador, Philippines, Tunisia) and also in Belo Russia and Ukraine.
