EUROPE/RUSSIA - TODAY ON THE INTERNET - Saturday 27 October at 4pm Immaculate Conception Cathedral in Moscow, Ordination of new Catholic Archbishop of Mother of God diocese in Moscow

Thursday, 25 October 2007

Roma (Agenzia Fides) - “With trepidation I learned of the Holy Father's decision to appoint Rev Paolo Pezzi Archbishop of the Roman Catholic Mother of God archdiocese in Moscow. With my confreres of the Fraternity of St Charles I will accompany Rev Paolo with friendship and prayer in this delicate and fascinating task. Having known him as my secretary and then as my vicar general, I know he will dedicate himself wholeheartedly and passionately to the life of Catholic Church in Moscow. Rev Paolo is familiar with the Russian people having been a missionary in Siberia and lately rector of the Seminary in San Petersburg. He has profound affection for the Orthodox Church and for the great tradition of the Russian people. I am certain Don Giussani will accompany him from heaven in this new ministry. Don Massimo Camisasca, 21 September 2007” (C.E.) (Agenzia Fides 25/10/2007; Righe 15 - Parole 172)
