AMERICA/BRAZIL - “God's love knows no frontiers: from the Amazon to the whole world”: theme of World Mission Sunday in Brazil in harmony with Fraternity Campaign 2007

Brasilia (Agenzia Fides) - “God's love knows no frontiers: from the Amazon to the whole world” is the theme chosen by the Catholic Church in Brazil to celebrate World Mission Sunday on 21 October. The theme also refers to the national Fraternity Campaign 2007 promoted by the Bishops' Conference which has the "Fraternity and Amazonia", in a missionary key. Mission Sunday material prepared by the Pontifical Mission Societies and distributed to parishes all over the country, Fr Daniel Lagni, PMS natioanl director tells Fides, includes 130.000 poster, 50.000 copies of Pope Benedict XVI Mission Sunday Message XVI, leaflets with Mission Sunday prayer 2007, suggestions for prayers at Sunday Masses in October, 100.000 copies of a booklet libretto "God's love knows no frontiers: from the Amazon to the whole world" with suggestions for five liturgies: " Mission is a fruit of God's Love "; "Mission without frontiers"; "Mission in Amazonia"; "From Amazonia for the world" and for a liturgy of Mission Sending and Commitment.
Fr. Lagni said “Our intention is to intensify missionary spirit and commitment. We must be ardent disciples of Jesus Christ in the roads of mission, following in the footsteps of the patron Saints of the universal mission, Saint Francis Xavier and Saint Therese of Lisieux".
