Leopoli (Agenzia Fides) - On Saturday 15 September, the vicar general of the Opera Don Orione, Rev Enemesio Lazzaris, laid the foundation stone for a chapel which will be dedicated to Saint Luigi Orione and an oratory which temporarily will serve for Ukrainian Catholics while a vew Don Orione Centre is built including a seminary, a convent, a new church with an oratory, a sports hall and two buildings one to accommodate young people with a disability and the other will be a Caritas Centre. "After six years of mission in Ukraine - Rev Lazzaris said - thanks to the hard work of Orionini religious, Rev Egidio Montanari and Rev Moreno Cattelan, today we are laying the foundation stone for greater growth of the Congregation in this immense and fascinating country. Besides activity of evangelisation - Rev Lazzaris continued - we have always shown concern for the poor and the excluded people who are many here in this suburb of Leopoli, a city with a population of 830,000".
